PSA-902 Multichannel Ranging System:

The Datasonics PSA-902 Multichannel Ranging System is a precision sonar altimeter designed to make up to sixteen sequential acoustic range measurements by the echo-sounding method

The PSA-902 has several features not commonly found in acoustic ranging systems:

The system is microprocessor controlled and interfaces directly with a PC, modem or data logger through a standard RS-232 port. an RS-422 port is available for installations requiring long distances between the PSA-902 and the controlling PC.

The system is designed to store measurements on a 512 kilobyte random access memory (RAM) card, providing economical data collection for applications in remote unattended locations.

The system is compatible with a wide variety of Datasonics transducers with different frequencies and acoustic beam patterns to meet the specific needs of your application.

The system operates from a +24 Volt DC power source and has backup battery capacity for 24 hours of operation in the event of a local power outage. The system maintains the batteries at full charge while operating under external power.

Optional system features include a temperature probe for sound-velocity calibration and custom software to interface with most personal computers.

The electronics are housed in a sturdy, weather-tight fiberglass junction box, with all cable terminations made through water-tight connectors on the sides of the case. All transducers are constructed of molded urethane and feature integral cable  strain relief.
